Emo The Emotional Elf

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

Good evening , kinda funny how this prompt came up now right when I am o  the biggest de-clutter of my home

That’s why I haven’t been focused on writing much the last couple of days.

So, as I probably previously mentioned, our youngest Jake moved out to go take up his apprentership, and our niki has got a job. It’s almost like I drop them off and have the day free to get on with things when Hayley isn’t here,

So I decided to keep myself busy and de-clutter the house, including the attic.

Three piles

1 to recycling tip.

2 donate

3 keep and organise.

Niki has been helping when she isn’t working. My hubbies even started to get involved. Only this time, he is not grabbing things back out of the bags when I do it. Maybe because I am definitely quick to take the things to the recycle or donation places,

My family sure do like to hold on to things.

I am sentimental , So things like the clothes my kids first wore, not all of them, but maybe three or four little sets, special toys that had a memory attached. The kids’ school reports birth cards and some birthday cards through the years.

Letters that were written. Photographs year books,

I have been out and got a couple of scrap books to add each child’s memories. I’ve got to be a little more selective, though.

I’m not sure what we are going tondonwith all the books, though.quite yet. the kids might do a bootsale in the warm weather for some of it because the majority belongs to them.

It is going to take about a month. I think to decluttet the whole house a little bit each day should do it.

Once the kids’ things are sorted, we get to hubbies that is going to be a challenge. He can get a bit huxsley sometimes

Yep, pretty much this 🤣🤣🤣🤣

No, seriously, though , he does say don’t touch my stuff, I like yo tease him a little, show him my ring, and say 50 50, baby.

It’s not just hubbies and kids , I was pretty brutal with my wardrobes. 9 black sacks of clothes, blankets, and bedding gone. Hopefully, they will go to good use else where my room is so relaxing and spacious now, and I am sleeping much better for it.

It’s pretty cold here at the moment, so it’s great to have something to do on the cold days,

Once the house is de-cluttered, I am going to put a little bit of money into a pot, get some paint, and freshen things up around here, before it’s time to work on the garden and planting when weather warms up.

The thing is, though, when things are clean and clear, you actually start having clearer thoughts and visions of what you want to do, It’s the getting started that’s always the most difficult part plus I have been watching some organising programs on Netflix with Niki.

We watched one the other night while we were eating dinner when it finished we both went and started organising our wardrobes, niki managed her t-shirt shelf so that’s a start,

I did both my wardrobes and all the drawers’ cupboards above the bed and draws under bed.

I have the recycle place booked for tomorrow, so I have enough for 2 loads.

Then, back to attic for some more clearing.

We got some storage boxes and vac packs to seal teddies and clothes that are staying up in the attic.

Today, I got all the ironing done put away.

Picked up Hayleys meds,

Maybe I am empty nesting, like nesting before you get the baby, only the opposite, where you start sorting things to pass down, to them memories from their life.the bits they may not remember part of the personalities they but through the years. It’s a lot like a trip down memory lane.

I AM READY FOR FRESH AND REVITALISED😀😀

Plus, if I do this at the beginning of the year, it’s going to leave more time the rest of the year to just sit back and enjoy their company when they are all here.

Of course, it is also free time for writing and chatting to people, when my kids are occupied and I am not working.

I always have to be doing something.

That’s it for tonight

Much love Faye

I think this is the perfect song to end blog on . Night 😀
