Emo The Emotional Elf

I have given 2 speeches once as an author .

I gave a speech at an author event when I first published about the positives and pitfalls of publishing. It was after the publishers I was with went into liquidation and after I republished it under my own publishing name.

Quite an exceptional moment and a bit emotional. My son was in the audience.

SECOND SPEECH

THE MOST HARDEST SPEECH OF MY LIFE Mums funeral.

Kinda funny that this prompt came up today as it’s my mums first heavenly birthday, and we scattered her ashes this morning. We sent her off in the same places as my nan grandad and uncle Peter, her brother at the peace Gardens.

I don’t really know how I got through both speeches, but somehow I did.

I am not really a speech kinda person, more a one to one.

I do videos and things for YouTube and the audience has the potential to be the biggest stage but it always feels like I am talking personally to the person watching.

Good evening, Hope your day has gone well. Today’s is A blog about Wakehurst Nature reserve and garden centre.

I recently Visited with my Daughter and had a lovely time, Stunning views, Little bit of science and tree climbing went on in our visit.

Niki was much better than me at it

I think we came home with scratches bruises and a twisted ankle but it was so worth it.

We started the trail at the science room

Lots to learn gives you a new respect for the natural world and what beauty it can create.

There are many maps through out the park and you can also pick one up from the entrance so you can take it with you. with might of got lost a few times on route But we followed a friendly pheasant it seemed to know the way back.

Next up the different trails I can’t quite remember the order from photo’s alone so will share them in groups.

Not only were there trees and different views which ever way you looked their was some hidden gems in the forests

Where i got the scraps and scratches

This is also where Niki twisted her foot she got up ok but slipped a little on way day her knee gave out a bit. we found the funny side of it and i asked her would she ever try To climb again her answer was absolutely. Hypermobility can cause a few issues but if we don’t let them try to do things they miss out on a lot of things. we stopped quite a bit for rests along the trip. and went into the garden centre shop on way out but altogether a great day of fresh air outdoor learning and exploring and a spot of shopping too.

The little science place was very educational Niki really enjoyed that part.

Halloween fun

This year was pretty fun Halloween , we had many trick and treaters all dressed up in their costumes.

It is such a pleasure to be able to decorate and give out candy every year , seeing the kids smiles,

There was an inflatable cat and minion , witches , super hero’s Skellington’s,Zombie cheerleaders and vampires. Maybe one Wednesday Adams last year that was one of the costumes that was quite popular. little baby pumpkins. Some times the parents dress up too.

We had a small amount of candy left but not much.

Niki dressed up as Mega Mind making her own bald caps and some of the accessories. she did win the karaoke competition in both karaoke events.

I just reused old costumes a black cat and a devil.

I love the whole dress up the house and garden, pumpkins, and really every thing about the creative side of Halloween.

This year we did boo boxes a little like the Christmas eve boxes by Halloween inspired some sweets some spooky bath bombs and Niki got a coffin shaped shelving unit to go in her Gothic style room. If My kids have something Hayley always wants to have the same which is cool she just doesn’t like to miss out on anything my kids do. Isn’t it true everyone likes being treated the same kids especially but also those with learning difficulties.

Well hats our Halloween blog done for another year. slowly catching up on sharing my computer has been playing up a lot this year but these last 2 days it’s kind of behaving thankfully. As i need it for bigger blogs.
