The Year of book reviews

Well here we are in a brand new Year, Maybe this year will be the year for my Book Emo The Emotional Elf. It has been a while since I originally published it.

I hope this year brings in more reviews I am ok with any kind of review really as it means someone has picked up and at least given it a chance.

I have not done many elf posts last year, just the occasional elf popping in photos here and there. Don’t get me wrong they have been a blessing.

I still have them all this year they were scattered around the house. In the garden on window seals there were even elves in others houses I visited.

It was with grief and pain the book began, and grief and loss they has held me back in writing lately.

It is with acceptance, diagnosis, and the memories we make that gives us the strength to carry on.

To smile to enjoy the small things in life. To appreciate everything in front of us. The things we experience, the things we share, the connections we make and the love we give .

Hayley and hubby helped with the garden and getting her gingerbread man

For her Collection

we all each played a part from hanging lights and baubles to making some of the decorations ‘

We even got a little mr fix it done too

Yes the tumble needed an over hall new belt and element had blown. a bit of a pain but better than buying a new one fix it up till you can’t things should be recycled and refurbished when you can it’s all up and running now which is great as we in the winter months and drying clothes on chairs and radiators causes damp issues in our house. best avoided at all costs.

Front room Decs

I love decorating the tree in the front room its full of memories and special decorations we collected over many years.

Next up NIki decorated her own little goth tree making the baubles black using balloons to change the colour of baubles making her own goth angle and adding the tinsel. was perfect for her room. bleeding in with her the decor of her newly decorated room.

She has her own style.

Niki even got crafty and made her own books binding them and staining paper to make it look old .

she made some for her friends too.

Next up the kitchen and dining room the fire place being the statement piece ready for putting Santa’s plate of food

To be honest the kitchen is where a lot of action takes place over the Christmas holidays, the cooking the sharing of food the board games and music. the back shelf full of Christmas must haves.

I just love this part a tradition that passed through many generations through out our families.

Mums Birthday !2th December our first without her.

Next was the difficult part Mums birthday 12th of December we choose her birthday to scatter her ashes with her mum dad and brother Pete. well some of her ashes we had some planted with a cherry tree in Hayleys and dads garden, some is in a rose bush and other plant in my garden.

We gave some for her partner to scatter where they lived and four of the grand children had necklaces made with some of the ashes so nanny could be close to their heart and also I put some of my Amy’s resting place to.

Next came decorating Hayley’s tree and room after we scattered mum.

Its defiantly full of Hayleys personality and collections of Dolls , Elves, Mickey Mouse and Gonks. many years of memories.

Toula, Izzy and Kishon played us a surprise visit before they went tree shopping.

Life gets busy and you never really get to spend as much time together due to everyone work commitments and individual family sceduals but i always love to be part of the happy memories making the kids laugh and smile making them feel at home safe and loved when we get together . plus i love playing games with them too it’s super fun.

Sometimes these days we are just glad to get a glimpse of them going about their lives seeing the photos our family shares with us, jumping at the chance to meet up in person and give the kids a big hug and loads of attention.

Christmas Shopping

Surprisingly the shops were not so busy this year, maybe we just picked quite days to go shopping but shopping and lunch are always good.

Those gift ideas being sent to your inbox like your Santa clause.

Next up was Tully’s light festival

This was an amazing event i was wowed by sparkly lights and Christmas spirit. i loved having this experience with Hayley and Niki. everything about it felt like Christmas.

It is so much easy to share experiences through picture words don’t grasp the moments.

The light experience

It was the music each section had music which went with the theme. the smell of open fire the different light shows and places to the capture the moments with selfies for your photo albums its the magic of fairies appearing the roasting of marsh mellows on the fire place and the food areas. Its thought and planning the creativity to make these experiences for families dream like.

We didn’t know where to look first every corner had something that had you say wow. An experience you not only are emersed in but you go home and tell your friends and family how magical it is and tell them to go.

I’m still raving about it now and definitely gave ten a five star review staff were helpful jolly friendly real life Santa little helpers . l t was wheel chair assessable disability friendly. and great value for money carers got in free with proof of being a carer or the person disability.

Tully’s always puts on great days out from the sunflower festivals, Shoctober fest, Easter festivals, pumpkin picking the corn mazes, and escape rooms.

I really look forward to what they have to offer families over this new year. cause 2024 they pulled out some stunning days.

I don t just like capturing photo’s capturing video footage means you can always that visit but your very first experience of it to. to be honest i will go defiantly again.

With little Tom starting his Christmas decorations

I got Tom this little balloon arch and Reunited him with Emo

Tom always brings a little mischief and lots of smiles you can really see him think about what your saying its all in his eyes.

That’s it for par one of the blog

Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

I would like to say the future.

But the past always shapes how you are in the future.  Your past always has a cross between amazing memories and some not some good ones.

People say let’s lay the past to rest, but it not a simple thing to do.

It can be your motivation  or your depression.

The past comes with feelings and thoughts ideas it shapes how you think and feel and act in future.

I think everyone strives for something more, something better in the future. Not just short-term but long-term.

Could be buying a house a car. Getting qualification. Having a family getting married or that dream job.

We all have the power in us to do it. But it’s weather life throws you curve balls or delays to that final achievement and how we handle that process.

It’s a new year, and resaloutions are meant to be made . Broken. Changed along the way. Maybe what we want in the momentbisbnot what we need in the future. That’s the beauty of life. Things happen for a reason. they are part of your story. Maybe that story will inspire others.

Much Love Faye ♥️ happy Sunday

How have your political views changed over time?

No, I still don’t have any faith in politics.

Politics should be for the good of all people. Without prejudice without corruption. Without mates rates and collution.

I don’t think I will see that kind of politics in my lifetime. It’s a Shame but true.
