What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?
To be the one down to make life decisions for my mum if she couldn’t.
That was the hardest thing.
My mum was a fighter she went through so much but she was feicely against DNR.
She asked me to be the one who made sure they attempted to resuscitate.
She knew I had her back on this. She knew no matter what doctors said about letting her die with dignity I would fight for her wishes to be treated with dignity and respect.
She knew no-one could make me change my mind because we had the same values on right to life and treatment.
She knew that because all her life she stood up for others. She advocated for others. That’s what my mum passed on to me.
I valued and respected her wishes till the end.
